Kabel Deutschland grows Q2 revenues 6%

Kabel Deutschland reported revenues for its fiscal second quarter to Spetember up 6.0 percent year-on-year to EUR 500 million. Adjusted EBITDA increased by 4.9 percent to EUR 244 million, giving a margin of 48.8 percent. The German cable operators net result improved to a profit of EUR 67 million from a loss of EUR 129 million a year ago. After capital expenditure of EUR 139 million (27.8% of revenue), operating cash flow totaled EUR 68 million. Kabel Deutschland added a net 108,000 broadband customers in the quarter, including 18,000 DSL customers from its new parent company Vodafone, for a total 2.369 million at the end of September. Premium TV customers increased by 53,000 in the three months to 2.425 million. Its basic cable base was still down by 2.7 percent year-on-year to 8.210 million. However, the growing number of services per customer (1.84 vs 1.73 a year ago) and more premium services sold led to a 7.1 percent annual rise in ARPU to EUR 18.16.
